    Chess player and natural born organizer Sandro has broad and deep body of knowledge in US, European and foreign law and in several other subjects.

    Sandro’s intimate understanding for math, electrical engineering and software is accompanied by a sense of perfectionism and morality that he adds to his work.
    Patient and good listener, Sandro is an excellent teacher and team leader. He organizes his work like a chess player: moving pieces and constantly shifting from position to position with consideration and intelligence, always assessing new tactics, strategies and contingency plans, constantly outmaneuvering others in order to maintain control of a situation while maximizing their freedom to move about.

    Alessandro Steinfl is a U.S. Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney. He was a partner with the Los Angeles office of Ladas & Parry. Prior to relocating to Los Angeles, he was at the Italian Intellectual Property firm of Società Italiana Brevetti in Rome.
    Alessandro has been a patent practitioner, either as attorney or agent, since 1993. He represents clients on a wide range of IP-related technical areas including semiconductor technology, computer software, hardware, nanotechnology and business methods.
    Alessandro received his Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern University School of Law in 2004 and his Laurea Specialistica (Masters Equivalent) degree in Electronic Engineering issued by the Italian University System (Università Sapienza di Roma) in 1993.
    He is admitted to the State Bar of California, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Italian Patent and Trademark Office. He has been admitted to the European Patent Office.

    Alessandro has authored the European Patent Protection of E-Commerce Technology (From .Com to Millionaire – The Silicon Valley Phenomenon, San Francisco, May 12, 2000) and The Doctrine of Equivalents Through the Eyes of the European Patent Convention (CASRIP Symposium Publication Series No. 6, July 2001 at 114).

    Enrica Bruno is an EPO-qualified U.S. Patent Attorney, Past Co-Chair of the AIPLA IP Practice in Europe Committee, member of the AIPLA Harmonization committee and CEIPI tutor.

    Enrica has extensive professional experience in Europe and the U.S. managing world-wide patent portfolios, developing intellectual property strategies for protecting companies’ technology, preparing and prosecuting national and PCT patent applications before the U.S. and European Patent Office, prosecuting patents in other countries, due diligence, litigation support, and drafting agreements relating to various areas of intellectual property.

    Enrica earned both a Laurea Specialistica (Masters Equivalent) degree in Biology and the equivalent of a Juris Doctorate both issued by the Italian University System (Università degli Studi di Palermo).

    Enrica has both lectured on and participated in panel discussions involving patents, both for CEIPI courses and for various institutions, including American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), American Bar Association (ABA), the American Chamber of Commerce (ACC), the State Bar of California Intellectual Property Law Section, Ordine dei Consulenti in Proprieta’ Industriale, the Association of Patent & Trademark Attorneys in the Italian Industry and various Universities including the Academia Sinica in Taiwan and the California Institute of Technology.

    Enrica is admitted to the State Bar of California, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the Italian Patent and Trademark Office. She has been admitted to practice law in Italy and has passed the European Qualifying Examination to practice before the European Patent Office.

    Brian Cash is an electrical engineer with a passion for biotech, software and the law.

    Brian is very attentive to details and has a natural propensity to identify the worst case scenario in any situation. Great team player can lead and support depending on the occasion. Brian has a great interest for the law, related applications, and related evolution. Brian follows closely the case law and is a key member of the firm’s team on eligibility issues.

    Brian Cash is a Patent Attorney, with experience in telecommunications, software, internet technologies, semiconductor design, photonics/optics, and biotechnology.
    Brian obtained his BSEE from Purdue University, with a specialization in electro-optical engineering. He received his JD in law at McGeorge School of Law (University of the Pacific) with an emphasis in Intellectual Property.
    Prior to becoming a Patent Attorney, Brian worked for nine years as a test engineer for Nortel Networks, eventually becoming a team leader for major telecommunication projects. Brian has also worked as a web designer/programmer for an internet-based startup venture.
    Since graduating from law school in 2006, Brian has prosecuted patents and provided patent prosecution consulting for a wide variety of clients and technologies, from baby seats and cosmetics cases to quantum computing and DNA analysis software. Brian also has extensive experience with non-US applications - especially for the European Patent Office, Japan, and China - PCT applications, and US design applications. Brian is a key member of the firm’s legal research efforts, particularly in the area of patent eligibility under 35 USC 101.

    Marc K. Parvaneh is a Senior Technology Specialist with experience in the areas of semiconductor technology, video codecs, digital signal processing, analog/digital filter design and analog/digital circuit design.

    Prior to joining Steinfl & Bruno LLP, Marc spent over 20 years in the optical disc industry where he held various positions in an industry leading company with global presence, ranging from Electronic Design Engineer in charge of designing a broad spectrum of industry innovative products, to Chief Technology Officer in charge of all technical activity related to company's core products and developments, ensuring company's position as a global leader in the field of optical disc.

    As an optical disc expert, Marc is well versed in player design, disc data formats, codec algorithms, copy protection schemes, digital media preparation, multiplexing and authoring, data verification, Digital Rights Management (DRM) and data distribution.

    As a design engineer, Marc is well versed with analog and digital design techniques, software and firmware design using various programming languages, Electromechanical and electro-optical design using lasers, modulators, linear stages, air-bearings, spindles and other.

    Marc has an M.S. in Systems Engineering from U.C.L.A. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Paris XI - Orsay.

    Marc is fluent in English, French, Italian and Farsi.

    Anna Basalova Buchman is a Technology Specialist in Molecular Biology and Genetics, with experience in genetics, bioengineering (including CRISPR/Cas9), synthetic biology, and sequence analysis.

    Anna obtained her Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), where she focused on genetic engineering approaches to population manipulation. She also received a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Population Genetics from Sam Houston State University.

    Prior to becoming a Technology Specialist, Anna conducted postdoctoral research at both Caltech and UC Riverside, where she worked on developed gene drive mechanisms using CRISPR/Cas9 and other genetic engineering techniques. Anna has authored or co-authored several peer-reviewed scientific papers in population genetics.
    In addition to her research experience, Anna also extensive experience teaching both laboratory and lecture classes in various areas of biology and tutoring private clients.

    Anna’s areas of IP practice and experience include drafting and prosecuting patents related to molecular biology, bioengineering, genetics, synthetic biology, cell biology, and microbiology.
    Anna is fluent in Russian.

    Sina Mirsaidi is a Technology Specialist with expertise and knowledge in various Electrical Engineering applications such as, Integrated Photonics and high speed transceivers, Telecommunications, broadband optical/wireless systems.

    He is an expertise also in speech/Signal/Image processing, Acoustic Doppler signal processing and current profiling Long Haul fiber optics based DWDM systems Computer systems/architecture, Integrated circuits and digital/analog electronics, Optical components and photonics.

    Sina worked in the design and development of broadband wireless access products at Nortel Network, and later advanced to product definition and design of the company’s Long Haul (LH) fiber-optic-based Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems. Sina focused on optical networks as a system architect for Ceyba Inc, developing innovative high speed optical systems.

    Sina spent five years developing advanced Silicon Photonics technologies used for high speed, fully integrated, fiber-optics based transceivers as system engineering manager in charge of design, development and characterization of high speed transceivers at Luxtera. Sina spent three years specialized in advanced Silicon Photonics technologies also for fiber-optics based transceivers as the system engineering lead for Teledyne RD Instruments.

    Sina received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from École Supérieure d’Électricité (SUPELEC), Paris, France, and University of Paris XI, Orsay France, respectively. He is the author and co-author of numerous technical articles published in conference proceedings and leading peer-reviewed journals and more than 100 white papers and technical reports. He is also a co-inventor of two patents in the area of Photonics integration and high speed design.

    Sina is fluent in English, French and Farsi.
